Windflower

Career

Qualifications

One such qualification is the lack of Acrophobia (Fear of Heights). Those in the field must climb up a 12-metre pole to manipulate the wind. Many plumbers, cleaners, electricians, firefighters, gardeners and other occupations which require you to go up high can get the job. Another such qualification is to work long hours at this high height to manipulate the wind.

Payment & Reimbursement

Those in the field are paid a large sum of 800 Quor Siong (96,000 AUD) a year.

Other Benefits

You are one of the most critical people in Archipeligo despite your considered status as a commoner because of your work to control the wind around the strait so sail ships and come and go quickly, along with bringing winds to power the Wind Catchers and Wind Baskets.

Perception

Purpose

The purpose is to control the 'Dragon's' wind so that it goes into each separate island to power the Wind Catchers and the Wind Baskets. They stand upon the Wind Stilt Towers and use Wind Stones to manipulate the strong winds and weaken them to bring them along the island.   As the wind comes, the Windflower spins a wind stone attached to a rope to generate a force equal to banging it with the hammer. Then, another wind stone on her palm is used to direct it in a certain direction. The Windflowers and Wind Stilt are placed in a circle around the Archipeligo of Seasons, and the wind that flows move in that circle, but also through the opposite direction the Islands were pointed at and through the straits both clockwise and anti-clockwise.   This allows ships to come into the island through the leftward side (Anti-Clockwise) and exit through the rightward side (Clockwise). As ships lost the need to have sails as the wind stones helped them propel themselves along the ocean, the Windflowers' purpose came to keep trade ships in an orderly fashion by using the wind to create road-like directions.

Social Status

Though commoners, they are considered the richest of the group. They are incredibly important to the power and trade of the entre Archipeligo of Seasons, and may also act as guards and watchwomen to not only check on enemies but also to feel if the 'Dragon' was tired and the wind was weak so that the Wind Baskets could be activated.

Demographics

Women are often Windflowers, as they are considered more naturally and knowledgeably gifted and connected. They are considered more likely to not die upon the Wind Stilt Towers, and there were the facts to prove it when the men were nearly all killed whilst all the women had balanced perfectly. This was because the women had found their own ways of balancing by taking wide stances and strengthening their lower bodies, whilst the men were stubborn and tried to take the wind head-on.

Operations

Tools

Uniform: Wind Flowers wear Khaisi clothing, but they are tightened around the waist, hips, sleeves and legs. This is to ensure that the cold current does not go into their body so that they don't get cold or freeze to death. They also don't wear the dress but instead replace it with multiple long tassels so that they know if the wind is flowing.

Workplace

The Windflowers are brought to sea onto a with a bit of land on it brought up by an Kihotus, The Element of Earth rune, with a one of the Hasasař Towers placed on it. They will climb up the ladder and clip their harness onto the top, where they will balance against the great winds.

Provided Services

It is illegal and a war crime to kill a Windflower as made after WWII when one was killed off, leading to a lot of Kayo being destroyed by being at the front of the wind.

Dangers & Hazards

If one cannot balance, they risk falling into the water, getting severe injuries and even death. This is why the job isn't in high demand, as the reward is equal to the risk.
