The Holy Aegis of Peace, usually referred to as The Aegis, is an organization under the church of
Baros that acts as
Harmony City's law enforcement. They have power of arrest within the city and can often be seen patrolling the streets in full armor.

The members of The Aegis, called Shields, are not all followers of the church of Baros, but a large portion are. Every Shield is sworn to an oath in the name of Baros to enforce and follow the laws of the city and breaking the law also breaks this oath. For minor laws, this means excommunication from The Aegis, but more serious infractions beget harsher punishment. Those who join The Aegis seek to protect the city, but some can be a bit overzealous in following the law to the letter.
