Taverns

Activity in taverns makes up most of its nightlife. Often, tavern owners also own an inn nearby, and the two businesses can be merged. A wide variety of drink is offered in taverns, and often people get drunk. People of all ages and type visit them, and it can be a lot of fun. The legal drinking age in Arburg is sixteen, although hard liquor may only be drunk at 18.

History

A few years ago, there was a man who got to intoxicated that he badly injured the barman and some other customers. He even threatened to rape some of the waitresses, but, fortunately, the owner of the tavern came and broke up the whole thing. Despite not being a violent man by nature. Though this limit is not directly stated and enforced by the government, many taverns owners fear possible unspoken penalties if they don't put it into place. Although incidents like this one ave occurred in the past, it is very rare to see people around that are completely wasted. Taverns are actually pretty peaceful as far as bars go. It isn't the place to go if you are looking for a peaceful evening, of course, but there usually isn't much ruckus surrounding them.
