Entertainer

Entainers, like the name suggests, entertain the people of Arburg. An Entertainer is skilled in one or more of the arts. There are two types of Entertainers: active and passive. Active Entertainers specialise in the performing arts like dancing, acting and performing musically. Passive Entertainers create something, and then make it open to the public, like painters, sketchers, and people that record their music. Entertainers can travel in groups or go solo, depending on what they do. Often, Entertainers come together and travel around to perform plays or concerts at theatre halls or out in the public. The most esteemed place to perform is in the Dame, a concert/theatre hall located in Eflaria.

Career

Qualifications

They have to be skilled in one of the above mentioned arts. Different levels of skill can get you different positions.

Career Progression

As they work, they gain experience and learn more, so the people who have been Entertainers longer are more skilled, often, and have a better chance of being personally hired.

Payment & Reimbursement

This is quite a low-paying job, and the pay is rarely stable or regular. It all depends on what people want and what they are willing to pay. Because of this, Entertainers often have to adjust their work to what the public wants.

Other Benefits

It is a chance for people to follow their passion for the arts, and, oftentimes, work together with people who have the same kinds of passions. They also learn from each other. It is seen as a fun, carefree jobs, although, of course, it does have its fair share of challenges, like every profession.

Perception

Purpose

They are the cornerstones of Arburg's culture and entertainment, and are there to serve the people. Many Entertainers begin the job purely for their own fun, but eventually - inevitably, if they wish to survive - realise that the job has to be people-orientated.

Social Status

They are not very high up in the social hierarchy of jobs, but they do get to place that many other professions would never see. For example, the royal family themselves can demand a private concert or play.

History

It had its big boom when the Dame was built in Eflaria, which was back in 79.

Operations

Tools

It all depends on what art they specialise in. Painters need paint and brushes. Actors need costumes and props. Musicians need instruments. Et cetera.
