The Stewardends

The Stewardends comprise the largest part of the Arborvale Concord by far. Bordered by the Frostcrown Mountains to the north, the Augurweald to the south, the Thaedwen Isles to the west, and the Sultanates to the east, their varied landsape and fertile grounds built the Concord in what it is today. This came at stark cost, however, as the Stewardends were forcibly seized by the other dominant members of the Concord in the name of conquest. Though contented on the surface, those familiar with the folk of the region know better: tensions are steadily rising, and the Stewardends are a powder keg with a steadily shortening fuse.

Prior to the formation of the Arborvale Concord, the Stewardends were comprised of myriad independent towns, villages, and homesteads, peaceably existing on a system of traded goods and shared labor. With no standing army or militia to speak of, they were easily forced into the Concord under one banner. The Concord's establishment of the capital city of Duskspear within their borders did nothing to increase goodwill. Most notably, to this day the Stewardends have no true representatives within the High Council. With the tale passed down from generation to generation, and their populace still subjugated to the will of the Concord's head players, resentment towards their rulers burns continually stronger within the people of the Stewardends.

Geography

Though largely covered by fertile, rolling, plains, the Stewardends are home to a large variety of terrain. Hills dot the landscape, some regions continuing for miles. Swathes of forest cover ground here and there, with many a hamlet or other small establishment built along its edge. Many a smaller river or stream makes its own way down to the sea, fed by the Oakrun, with any number of households and villages resting along their shores. The odd cluster of gullies show up here and there, but are unanimously shunned and regarded as cursed. Most notable is the great oak nears its center for which the Concord takes its name; stretching miles into the sky, it is commonly used by residents to orient themselves.

Natural Resources

The Stewardends are responsible almost entirely for the Concord's food supplies, as well as wood and clothing. Crop fields, orchards, and pastures stretch for miles, employing the majority of the population. Those on the borders of forests usually employ woodsmen, hunters, and a fair number of tanners, in addition.
