Twilight's Shield

While geographically apart from both Serkia and Skåg, it's current inhabitants are serkian descendants.   The island has been settled for nearly a thousand years, to the point that culture and language has shifted significantly. The "ethirians", as they are known, are insular and avoid most contact with other civilizations. The ethirians live in a fortified port city known as "Fore A'Ethir" built over ancient skågjar ruins. The island counts a few additional small settlements. Agriculture is poor on the island, and most food comes from the sea.   The island is named "Ethir Gulan", which roughly translates as "Shield that kills the sun". The name comes from some ancient megalithic cairns built on the coast that block the sun during sundown. The true meaning of this shrine is unknown. No real research has been done, but scholars suspect it predates the skågjar, and that they were built during the Primordial Era.

Geography

The island features rocky beaches and low cliffs on the eastern and southern sides. It is there that Fore A'Ethir is built. Nearing the centre of the island, a few small, sharp mountains break up the relatively plain highlands.   Black stones jut from the grasslands on the western face of the island. The northernmost coast of Twilight's Shield remains uninhabited as it snows there almost every single day.

Fauna & Flora

Black wolves, black bears, small boars and small horses make up most of the fauna.   Stubby grass, hardy bushes and small trees make up the mayority of the little flora there is.

Natural Resources

The black stone obtained from the grasslands is particularly resistant, which explains how the cairns have survived so long. As such it is of high value, but since the ethirians don't care about trading, few have dared the venture of procuring such ores.
