Sigils

One of the many branches of Engraving, sigils are simple single rune spells than can be engraved quick and cast just as fast. Sigils, like many engravings are prepared before hand and infused with aether to be cast at a moments notice. Sigils are very versatile and have no restriction on materials it is carved on. Popular ways to store sigils include playing cards, coins, scrolls, and other objects that small and light.

Making sigils requires an engraving surface and a way to engrave it.

Gestures & Ritual

Sigils begin with acquiring a medium for the spell, be it stone, paper, wood, etc. Then the single rune is drawn or carved into the medium. The engraver then has to pour some aether into the sigil to power it. To release the spell, the castor needs to have the sigil out and give it a small aetheric push.
