Melanie grew up hearing stories of the Greek gods and goddesses from her Greek mother in place of fairy tales, but had an otherwise normal childhood. While she was at college, the apocalypse hit. Having lost contact with her family, she prayed and became Athena's champion, blessed with knowledge of strategy, tactics, and martial arts.
