Session 5: Infernal Encounter

General Summary

The party awoke together, each emerging and greeting each other accordingly.
Upon decending (some hobbling) down the flight of stairs, the party was greeting with an mass cheering and applause in the tavern - the citizens of Freymere are thankful for the protection and hope you gave them.
Judging by the way the crowd greeted all of you, it suggests that people see Thorin as the defacto 'leader' or party speaker
Agent Bartholomew Caboose emerged to greet them once more and to confirm their objective
The party shortly after set-off to their next destination; Hollowmyne
During their journey, they were ambushed by creatures of damnation; squad of Imps as well as an imposing Horned Devil. Extremely unheard of in the mortal world.
While the Imps proved little match to the Party, the Horned Devil was truly a terrifying force to be reckoned with.
This Horned Devil appeared to be driven solely by a rabid desire to kill Zazelle; they cursed at her, roared and shrieked at her, and charged at her with infernal fury.
The Horned Devil clearly underestimated the prowess and strength of the party, notably Zuuri whose weapon sliced through the Horned Devil's hide, causing devastating injuries.
However the Horned Devil still managed to seize Zazelle and deal a decisive blow to her by eviscerating her with hellfire.
This should have killed Zazelle.

What happened instead is that Zazelle became charged with pure arcane energy (manifesting itself in a chaotic electric green sparking) as though latent power had suddenly been awoken and supercharged.
A tirade of abnormal magical effects occurred around her, leaving everyone in an adrenaline-infused state of utter confusion.
Immediately after, she blasted everyone around her with this arcane energy, propelling her allies aside (thankfully uninjured) and obliterated the Horned Devil in the process.
In mere seconds, all that was left was coarse dust and the harsh stench of brimstone.
The Party immediately seized Zazelle and demanded answers; why were these hellish creatures after her? What did she do to draw their ire?
Zazelle expressed that she had no idea why any of these events transpired this way - she claimed to be utterly confused.
With tensions high and lives at stake, there was little time to press her further; Hollowmyne was still in danger
Not too long after, the party emerged from the cluster of trees that they were in, and for the first time laid their eyes upon Hollowmyne a kilometer away or so… or more specifically, the desolation and destruction therein…
