The Basin of Dreams

It starts out slowly, but before you know it, the ground has begun to slope downwards. Dried grass gives way to a strange rock underfoot, multicolored in shades of purple and white. It looks like the long-dried out aftereffect of an immense liquid flood, forming spiraling roads of flowing patterns and shapes throughout the spiked rock formations that jut from the earth. The further you head into the Basin, the further and weaker the sun seems to feel, and the more strange lights fill the sky. Waving patterns of northern lights, brief beacons of brightness that quickly die off, both surround you in the distance as you tread the winding river-road onwards.     You start to see them eventually. Glimmering marks like scars in the air. Some are red, pulsing with angry energy and leaking their corrupting influence into the world around them. Others are blue, pouring small streams of water like a busted pipe. They come in every color imaginable, each with a different effect, and grow larger the further you go. By the time you reach a massive, seemingly endless canyon within the Basin, the numerous tears have become circular portals to unknown realms, sustaining their existence through some twist of nature and magic present in the air. Some are large enough to fit an entire platoon from end to end.   The Basin of Dreams is located deep within the snowy mountain ranges surrounding Camp Steadfast, and is a hotspot of planar tears. Patrolled by the Lhaksharut Inevitable known as Gate Lord Kron, the Basin is a rare place for adventurers to visit. A party of The Fangs, comprised of Drake, Sol, Aravae, Aldis, Misha, and Enyeta traveled through the region recently on a quest for the Gate Lord.
