"I didn't have anything to keep me in history, so I decided this piece of rock will be my history!" -Karl Hari Olemann
Harioal is a unique and versatile soft metal ore found only in the most northern reaches of the northern regions of Lin Queza. Discovered by Karl Olemann in the fifth century, Harioal didn't garner great attention for several centuries, merely being used as a component for expensive jewelry only attainable by the Khans of Lin Queza and occasionally as decorative armor pieces.  After the dawn of the sixth century, the Second Kerian Emperor discovered that he could channel his magic through a necklace he had received as a gift to placate the rift between the Empire and Lin Queza. Upon discovering this, he had his Master of Commerce buy as much of the material as was possible, sending the economy of the Empire in a small recession as a result, and had all of the most skilled mages outfitted with tools in order to amplify their abilities, catapulting the Empire's power into realms no nation had hitherto reached.  Since the discovery was leaked to the world stage, Harioal became the most valuable resource on the planet, and caused the small mining town around the only known veins to quintuple in size, and for large expeditions to find further veins to explode.  Since then, only four other veins of the ore have been discovered, and each has led to further wealth for the nation of Lin Queza, which has settled into a state of peace through economic leverage. Most of the major nations of Anrei have agreed to defend Lin Queza from any aggression in return for favorable trade deals, which allows the nation the freedom to mostly tend to its own national interests and an increased quality of living, especially around the veins of Harioal.
