The Floating Isles

Where the land floats above the sea.

These strange islands do indeed float, although, not on the water. This trio is positioned above the ocean waves, floating perfectly still in their spot. It has been known as a mystery until many different great minds of science (as well as the Guardians) studied the Isles and figured out how they actually float.

Geography

There are several notable features about this wondrous place. First off, there are some safety guidelines. You do need to realize that the islands are stable, but don't go flying one of your human shuttles up there! With that out of the way, there are several sizable mountains on all three of the islands. Next, there is a lake on the larger island, it is astronomically acidic and will dissolve flesh of any creature not adapted to it. The islands are held up in the air not by magic, but by magnetic rocks. They are known as Megnepho and are also found in the Scar and underneath the Overhangs to the North.

Fauna & Flora

There are several species of trees on the islands, as well as megrass and a strange form of Spread-weed that can grow in the acidic regions around the lake. The species of Avimorphs that are on the mainland are also appearing on the Isles, as they seem to have flown there on outgoing currents. The larger organisms include a species of arborial Tenticae, (soon to be given an article) and several quad-sect species. There are also reported sightings of a massive flying creature, said to live in a cave on the largest island, though nobody knows if they are true or not.

Natural Resources

The trees are massive and would be cut down most likely had they been sprouted on the mainland, though here, on this floating paradise, they are safe. There are also several rare stones and gems found within the mountains. Megnepho has been deemed illegal to mine, as the results would be devastating.
