Ealdor

Demographics

The primary inhabitants of Ealdor are humans. Although, elves, dwarves, and halfings are also a common sights within the city.

Government

Ealdor is run by King Alexander the IV and his closest advisors.

Defences

The primary advantage that the city has would be its terrain. It is built upon a large hill with nothing to obscure the vision of the defenders. Second, the city has two walls. The first is a stone wall that encompasses the entirety of the city. The second is a wall forged completely from adamantine that surrounds the keep itself. Defending their walls are some of the best fighters Andarrea has ever seen. On the walls are also several modified ballistas made to pierce dragon scales as a warning to any Knights that may think about attacking.

Industry & Trade

For the most part, Ealdor's primary income comes from stone quarries that are close to the city. The stone that they harvest proves to be excellent for building structures.

History

During the The Royalist Revolution  Ealdor was as the capital for the Royalist leader, King Edmond. It was here the first victory for the Royalists was scored their first major victory against the Constitutionalists. After the victory of the Royalist, the capital was moved to Ealdor, any traces of the old parliament budling was destroyed and a castle was erected over it. It is said the throne of the castle sits where the old parliament met. It was during the reign of King Richard in 535 AYD that saw the creation of the adamantine walls around the keep. During this time King Richard was in a civil war with his twin brother, who believed him to be unfit and unjust king. King Richard approached the dwarven kingdoms and requested the aid of their finest builders to help them forge raw adamantine that they had discovered in the duchy of Nyss. While the Dwarves were wary of Kingdoms, they relished at the opportunity to work with adamantine. When the brother of King Richard arrived with his army, they could not take the keep. Richard was able to counter-attack and drives the enemy forces away. Since then, the walls of the keep have never fallen to an enemy army. Although, spies, assassins, corruption, and disease slip in all the same.
