Drakon's Heart

The city of Drakon's Heart stands as a shining beacon in the world. In the center, is the marvelous Spire of The Dragon which one can see for miles away. This attracted people from all walks of life to travel to Drakon's Heart, making the city a melting pot of cultures. Despite the differences every citizen might have, they have lived harmoniously with one another and Dragon Knights watch over them to maintain that harmony.

Demographics

Drakon's Heart is home to all kinds of exotic races; However, humans and elves make up a majority of the population.

Government

The city operates as a respective republic with each district and the outlying towns electing four representatives to decide on legislation. The academy has an honorary position on the council with the headmaster and the Lord Knight serving as representatives.

Defences

Drakon's Heart is surrounded by a 30 ft thick and 50 ft tall stone wall. Through a series of engineering and magical techniques, the wall is able to support the weight of multiple fully grown dragons as well as resist many of the breath weapons they use. In addition to the dragon knights, the walls are also defended by several ballistas, armed guards, and artillery spellcasters.

Infrastructure

Drakon's Heart is divided up into 4 districts: the farming district, the residential district, the military district, and the Academy. The farming district helps provide food all year round and even during sieges. The residential district contains a majority of the populace as well as the shops that they maintain. The military district is the smallest of the districts and holds the military academy, main barracks, and armory. The academy stands at the center of 3 districts. Within the academy stands everything necessary to train and house dragons and people alike, and as a result stands about half a mile width.

History

The city grew around Drakon Academy. First, it was a few farmers to provide meat and bread for the Dragon knights. Then came smiths to help them create their arms and armor. Merchants came to sell them exotic items, and all the while they brought their families and built homes until the academy was surrounded by a sprawling city. The dragon knights in exchange for the supplies and commerce protected the residents, erected a wall, and redirected the nearby river so crops could be grown en masse inside the safety of the walls. The city has only be invaded two times in its history, once by the Northern Kingdoms, the second by the orc tribes. Both forces were repelled with little to no damage to the city. Since its creation 3 small towns near the city have officially joined the nation.

Geography

While originally surrounded by mostly plains, with the aid of the Dragon Knights, they were able to redirect a nearby river to run through the city. This gave them an almost unlimited supply of water to plant crops within the walls and during sieges.
