Deradare River

"The Sound of the water crashing against the rocks and the river walls did nothing to silence the cries of the wounded, the chants of the Northmen or the cries of the crown-guard. We knew the North would never forgive the taking of Ridgemot, but the day was ours, and the river would wash away the evidence" -Ser Conway Pelham

Geography

The Deradare river begins its journey in two parts in the Central mountains, one travelling past Balmar and meeting the other at Lake Balmar. The river then speeds up in its flow and rushes past Alcove and the Alcove Woods and round into the midlands past Arbor. The one main crossing of the Daradare lies north of Arbor, controlled by a small garrison.   The river bends back south and then meanders back into the hills of Leelside before finally leaving to the sea at Ridgemot.

Fauna & Flora

The river is home to mostly pike and trout, with a few bears close to the mountains that enjoy the rivers bounty.   Many birds and smaller animals live along the river as it passes the Alcove Woods. Hunters use this area heavily, but many hunters from the south come up to hunt there and often come into conflict with hunters from further north.

Natural Resources

The river is mostly used for fishing and as bait for many different animals, bears, birds, rabbits, and many more venture to the river.   There was once iron grains and nuggets found in the river but over time it has worn down to the point where there is none. Although some miners still try their luck prospecting into the river bed.
