Sufyan
Sufyan b. Yusuf (1812-1880) was the second child and firstborn son of Caliph Yusuf I, and founding ancestor of the Sufyanid cadetage.
Born to Caliph Yusuf's second wife, Sufyan grew up in Cuba, seeing his father only rarely. The tragic death of Abd.Rahman b. Yusuf left Sufyan as Yusuf I's only direct male heir, and Caliph Yusuf summoned him to the Alcazar. They quickly grew to loathe each other.
Sufyan's first marriage, arranged by Yusuf I, was disastrously bad and ended in a divorce after two years. By this point Sufyan was a legal adult under caliphal law, and the most Yusuf could do was profoundly disapprove of his subsequent marriages.
Spouses and Issue
Note: This section is Canon, but it is not complete. Feel free to expand it as needed.By his second wife:
- Children.
- More children.
- Note that Sufyan's first wife in Cuba was neither his second wife, nor his last wife in Cuba.
- Three children, none of which were red-headed, one of whom was deaf.
- Note that the red-headed deaf servant was not (by a long shot) the only red-haired woman in Sufyan's life, nor the only servant he married, nor again the only woman that proposed to him.
- She was Sufyan's only deaf wife, however.
