The Nexus

Purpose / Function

The Nexus was built by powerful Fey mages as a crossroads, to connect all the Planes. It was meant to bring the mortals and Gods together and it served that purpose for millennia. The Gods of the different pantheons used the Feywild and the great palace built around the Nexus as a meeting place and mortals would visit their God's Plane to gaze upon divine beauty.

Architecture

The Nexus is a beautiful building made of white marble quarried from The Five. It is built in typical Feywild fashion, with magic, making it seem as if it has naturally grown from the earth. The stone snakes around in organic fashion and almost no surface is straight, with domes covering the tops of the buildings. The central building is the largest of the palace and it houses The Great Portal, a large elevated platform with runes inscribed all around it. The platform was used to transport anyone into the Nexus or from it to any other Plane.
The palace was destroyed during the migration of the Dragons. No one knows why, but different factions of the Dragons fought a great battle around the Nexus, burning down much of the surrounding jungle and completely destroying the building and the portal, which is no longer functional. The building hasn't been rebuilt since.
