Session XXIV
General Summary
The party reconvene at O'Ellennor to grieve, celebrate, and make plans.
Missions/Quests Completed
The party returned to the city of O'Ellennor after having defeated Sseth in combat. The city was in ruins, with dead bodies and flaming buildings everywhere. Those of the Corrupted who had survived being reverted back to their humanoid forms were ambling around aimlessly. The slayers of Sseth walked down to the main gate trying to locate Lady Belle or Queen Rienni. They found Belle directing the Eladrin forces in an attempt to get help to the wounded and to get the confused ex-corrupted out of the city walls. Queen Rienni, though, was nowhere to be found and they soon learned she had fallen in battle. Belle assured them everything was under control and the party headed back to the fortress at the top of the city to rest and regain their strength.
The following day a festival was organised, with games and revelry in the city. The inhabitants, in typical Feywild fashion, decided not to dwell on the death and destruction, and rather celebrated the great victory. Alongside the festival, funerals were also organised outside the city walls. The party split up and partook in the festival activities, mostly just getting inebriated.
In the evening a feast was held in the great fortress. All of the party members attended and were greeted like heroes. They paid their respects to the dead Queen as the feast was being organised to honour her noble sacrifice. They also mingled with the guests, including a group of influential Eladrin, a lost human wizard, and later the fairy dragon Mexelis.
The Eladrin nobles told them about the succession question in the Feywild, as Rienni had been the only queen the Eladrin had ever had, so no one knew what to do now she had died. She had a daughter, but the daughter had gone on a quest and hasn't returned yet. The human wizard was a servant of House Tregaerion but had travelled to the Feywild to study it. He informed the party the House has fallen on hard times and needs any help it can get and that he would travel back home soon. Soon after, Mexelis the fairy dragon arrived with some members of the party. He had seen the great victory and come as soon as he could. He informed the party of his plans to repair the Nexus and return it to its former glory.
The party spent the rest of the night carousing and enjoying themselves, with an important decision looming over their heads. What would they do now that Sseth was defeated?
