Fate Weaver
Destined Artifacts - Deck of Ended Fates
Although Starlight magic can be explained through careful study of the magic itself and the cosmic bodies above the realm, there are also those who are either born blessed with the powers of the occult or learn how to read the stars in order to foresee the future and understand how fate works.
Very similar to the practice of fortune telling through various methods such as tarot cards or palm reading, Latakar was home to a select few that have learned how to understand the threads of Fate that connect everything around them and then spread these lessons throughout the Aesthral Sea . Starlight magic may be the connector for everything in creation, but the way it is altered over the course of time is the work of Fate.
The sorcerers that are able to peer into the future or even into the unknown, are called Fate Weavers, and the most talented ones among them can even alter fate through the use of powerful occult magic.
Starlight Arcana Reading
Starting at 1st level, the Fate Weaver awakens their destiny, linking their trade of fate into the mysterious Starlight Arcana cards.
Once every sunbreak and moon sight (every 12 hours), you may spend an action to shuffle the Starlight Arcana deck (or a regular tarot deck that has only the major arcana in it), draw a card from the Starlight Arcana and place it facedown in front of you. Then, flip the card over and determine if you see its name normally or reversed (a reserved card is one where the name is upside down) and then associate the time it represents as follows:
- At 1st level, the card you draw represents the past.
- At 5th level, You may draw 2 cards per 12 hours. The second card represents the present.
- At 10th level, You may draw 3 cards per 12 hours. The second card represents the present, and the third represents the future.
- Past Fate. The card reveals a truth about the past. The card affects the party. They add 1d4 to their d20 rolls for the next hour atop the card effects.
- Present Fate. The card affects the current situation, The card affects the NPCs the party will interact with right away. They subtract 1d4 to their d20 rolls for the next hour atop the card effects.
- Future Fate. The card tells of the future. This card affects a later encounter that will occur in 12 hours time, decided by the GM. The GM must also give glimpses of this immediate future to the Fate Weaver through cryptic visions.
If a Fate Weaver draws a past, a present, and a future card, they have a read of what is to come. Reveal a glimpse of what you have prepared for the party, or a portion of an upcoming scene in their Starlight Arcana campaign. The effects of the cards name their targets, apply the past, present, and future effect alongside it.
Eternity’s Loom
Starting at 2nd level, you start to understand that the world works with the threads of Fate all around you. You understand that Fate is infinite and eternal and none can erase it.
You gain access to Sorcerer Starlight spells and each time you gain new spells, you may add an extra spell to your list from the Starlight School of magic.
Sealed Fate
Starting at 6th level, you have peered into the unknown and now understand that there is more than meets the eye. Fate has a way of making things happen in mysterious ways.
You gain a permanent +1 bonus to Charisma as your hands begin to illuminate every time you cast a Starlight spell. Once per day, you are able to force a creature to reroll a Saving Throw. This cannot be used on yourself.
Threaded Fate
Starting at 14th level, you start to see the threads of Fate itself and are able to weave them in ways that alter the destiny of creatures.
You gain the ability to alter the Fate that surrounds other creatures. As a Bonus Action, you reweave Fate around you to force a creature within 15ft. to have advantage or disadvantage on its next roll. You may use this ability twice per Long Rest. In addition, if a creature is under the effects of a sorcerer starlight spell, you can activate this class feature regardless of how many times you used it already.
As Above, So Below
Starting at 18th level, you have reached a point where you can clearly read what the threads of Fate are there for. You have achieved true clairvoyance and are able to predict things very easily. Your Sealed Fate ability can now be used twice a day.
Your Sealed Fate ability can now be used 4 times a day.
You may cast Far Sight once per day without expending a spell slot.
You may reject a card and draw another one whenever you would draw a card. You must use this second draw.
