Personal history

At his birth the entire court was in prayer, it was a long birth and screams of pain were heard by everyone in the palace.
In the end Lady Hoanna had almost bled out and only one twin had survived. The father, King Hadalard, secluded himself for days, maybe in shame, maybe in mourning.
Lady Hoanna left the capital 2 months later with their little son for the summer palace in the south and never returned.
Thus Clothaire lived with his mother in that palace far from the city, with the sporadic visit of his father the King who couldn't even look at him in the eyes most times.
In that palace he was carefully raised by masters and servants to become a nobleman, but when he turned 15 he demanded to go living by his father's side. After her mother had warned him of the risks and anxieties of the capital, she reluctantly accepted.
He was greeted with a magnificent feast with all the high nobility of the capital, a truly grandiose event.
What disturbed the prince was how little his father was involved in all of this. It seemed as if duke Oddo was in charge, he organized the feast, he gave the speech and he dealt with all the barons while Hadalard was sitting on the throne with a bored expression.
His father tried to talk to his son, but the breach was too big between the two. To Clothard, his father seemed detached, unable to hold a conversation without getting lost on his thoughts or getting emotional.
The situation had quickly become drastic, father and son started avoiding each other. Clothaire was about to write his mother admitting that she was right, that his father wasn't going to help him and that the capital wasn't his place, but the king acted first, leaving the capital for an official visit to the Southern Marquises.
Oddo protested for the king's decision to go alone with his escort, but the king left almost immediately.
That is the last time Clothard saw his father
A few months later the king's escort returned, claiming that the king had been captured during his return to the capital.
The court was shocked, and before Clothar could even realize what would happen, it already had:
Oddo gave a powerful speech, accusing the perdicean king, Sermides, of the deed. Then, he declared himself regent and Granduke of the kingdom.
To Clothard, this seemed outraging, but he realized that the entire court supported Oddo.
"You are too young to lead a war, I was a great friend of your father, believe me. Let me try to rescue him. If the worse is to happen I will do what he asked me and assure you a safe reign"

Told him the Granduke, so he waited.
Three years have passed, another battle has been lost, and yet the Granduke's grip over the kingdom has only tightened. Clothard has started to talk to Oddo's opposition and gather support to take a throne that should be his by birthright.
