Scottish Rite Cathedral of Indianapolis

The central ritual building for the Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite - Freemasons, located in downtown Indianapolis. It is only half a dozen blocks away from the City Market plaza, where one can tour a small section of the Catecombs.

The rectangular building sprawled across an entire city block. It had a huge square shape on the east side, with rounded columns climbing the walls. Round towers stood guard at each corner, and a peaked archway rose up several stories above the huge wooden double door. A single tower, twice the height of the rest of the building, stretched up to dominate the western side of the building, with huge arched windows on each side.

The entire building gleamed with the sunlight reflecting off of the light tan brick. There was no fancy color on the building, but the architectural details stood out against the bright neutral material. Overall, it was stunning.

Joseph laughed. “You have got to be kidding, Hound Dog.”

Hound Dog just grinned and nodded.

I turned to shoot Joseph a questioning look. He shook his head in disbelief.

“This is the Scottish Rite temple,” Joseph explained. “Freemasons. Hound Dog wants to hide us in a place just this side of the Illuminati.”
