Baroness was born to a royal family in a land far away. She was sweet, generous and committed to her duties to the people. Her twin brother, Wilhelm, was naive, easily manipulated and obsessed with his self image. Unlike him, Baroness would spend her time with the lower classes of her kingdom and eventually fell in love with a human peasant named Nigel. Nigel despised her at first, until he realized that she didn't know that her parents were corrupt, participating in species trafficking, tyranny and murder. As someone who also had a passion for justice, he broke the news to the princess that her crown was tainted and invited her to join the rebellion. Baroness confronted Wilhelm in horror but not only did Wil admit to knowing the dark deeds of their parents, but Baroness discovered her twin was being groomed to commit the same crimes when he became King. Not wanting to compromise his destiny, he promised his sister Nessie that he would change things for the better. Then, in betrayal, Wilhelm informed their parents of Nigel's plans and the rebellion. In a rage, the King sent his armies to go wipe out the rebellion, leading to a full blown massacre and Nigel's death. Baroness tried to save him but it was too late, her lover died in her arms. In vengeance, Baroness snuck into her parents quarters and stabbed her father in his sleep. The Queen awoke and began screaming as Baroness fled out the castle window, using her agility to escape while her mother shouted promises to send every last solider after her until Baroness was dead. Alone and heart broken, Baroness returned to the broken city and was accepted by those of the rebellion who were still alive. Their group boarded Les Miserables, a large vessel that would sail to new lands and give the crew an opportunity to escape the crown and start a new life. Shortening her name to Ness, she traded her royal robes for rags- drowning in her sorrows every day no matter how well Les Mis sailed. Unsure of how to cope, she travels the world now, protecting the innocent . . . while running away from her own guilt.

Strong headed yet lawfully good, Ness is a High Elf who fights to protect the innocent. She pouts like a loner yet yearns for a family of her own that she can trust.
