Hekrum Wood (Heh-Krum)

Description:

A dark, grainy wood, harvested from World Trees. Incredibly light, and almost as solid as iron. Barely able to bend unless fully submerged in water for 48 hours on all sides. If not, it dries out incredibly fast. Fire can barely take hold of it, requiring it to be the hottest of fires to even scorch it. Acid and venom are very corrosive to it, becoming a solution to obstacles made of Hekrum.

Origin:

Although its found in World Trees (which are massive), not counting the trees themself being incredibly rare, the wood can at times rot extremely quickly when separated from the tree. If extracted correctly, it maintained its original quality for hundreds of years (if not put under destroying conditions). Though the trees are massive with massive amounts of Hekrum, due to the wood being so hard to gather in the proper way, very little wood percentage is harvested only upping the woods value.

Usage:

Although very expensive and vary rare, the material is incredibly valuable and durable, being used for a huge variety of uses. Majorly, it's used for gates in castles, wooden defenses (IE, watchtowers, walls, barricades, etc), and bridges. Some of the strongest fortress (such as Tenebris Stronghold, Magna Arbor, and so on) have gates made of Hekrum. At times it can be used for shields, bows, or even practice swords. For those with enough wealth and interested in the sea, entire ships will be built of it, making them some of the strongest vessels on the open ocean. However, only privateers, government navies, and Pirate Lords can afford these ships, making their power on the seas even stronger.
