History

  Daimon are the ancestral fathers of the world, originating from the three brothers: Gilderan, Hecreto and Barretto, originally humans. The Daimon powers were formed from the blood of the Zilk, an ancient and extinct elk-like creature found in the northern forests. this creature was fabled to be magical, and gift powers to those who come into contact with it. These three brothers and their offspring became the founder of the Daemon people.    

Gilderan the Gallant

is the father of Eron Daimon, natural healers, leaders, scholars and teachers. He was the first of the three brothers to be born, and the first to find a Zilk, nurturing it back to health after an injury that left it unable to walk. Gilderan was gifted the ability to live for 300 years, and in those 300 years, he left his mark upon the Daimon communities and was their leader for the entirety of his life, surpassing his four children and seeing the construction and destruction of Alea.  

Hecreto the Hero

Is the father of the Atu Daimon, a rare species that function mostly as noblemen and royalty, standing taller than any other Daimon and possessing special traits and abilities. Hecreto was killed by his Brother, Barretto, and was unable to oversee the rise of his subrace.  

Barretto the Bad

Is the Father of the rin Daimon, the most common race found among the residents of Alea. They are proficient in battle and have a natural ability to fight and strategies. Barretto never married and never fathered children, instead, he adopted over 100 young human orphans and transferred his power into them, creating this very prolific race of Daimon. He was also the creator of Alea.  

Appearance

  Daimons look very similar to humans, except for their powerful-looking golden eyes and other characteristics matching that of the ancient Zilk creature. The different sub races have separate inherited characteristics (see "sub races" for details). Each and Every Daimon has unique tattoos that they get on their sixteenth birthday, these tattoos are deeply personal, and have some kind of meaning corresponding to an event in their life or a feature of their personality. These tattoos are usually geometric, or tribal and simplistic in style. Elder Daimons have more tattoos, and when a Daimon reaches the age of 50, they get a single think black line tattoos from their bottom lip, down their neck and into their chest, where it ends with a hollow circle, this represents their connection to the Mana in their body.  

Life expectancy

  A Daimon can live up to 150 years+. This gives them a unique sense of time, believing themselves noble in species and some believing themselves superior. The elder Daimon scholars are usually towards the end of their life, around 100 years old upon entry into Gladia's library, a place where they commune and create records of history and events. Young Daimons are often considered lesser and not wise, especially by the elder Atu and Eron Daimons, who value age and wisdom over all else.        

Dwellings

  All Daimons live inside Alea , especially after Luceans Law which prevents any Daimon from moving between Earth and Alea. The higher of society live in the Reaches, a collection of dainty stone walled mansions in the mountains, near to the Great Palace, where King Lucean and his royal guard reside. The middle class often scatter the bottom of these mountains, or acquire residents on the lower peaks, they often live in The Treehouses or simple stone villas. The poorer of society live on the outskirts, in the Sylvian Slums where the roads are destitute and the light is low.

  • "The Drairy are Nomads, wanderers and Land stealers," - High-class Daimon
  • "The Drairy have their uses, though I do not know any or care to know any." -middle class Daimon.
  • "I live next door to a Drairy, we exchange pleasantries I have no quarrel with them" - Lower-class Daimon.
 
  • "Humans are scum and only cause trouble, Magic or not, We are not on the same page" - High class Daimon.
  • "They can earn my respect by fighting our battles and learning our history. A Human cannot walk in here and demand the respect I would give to a brother" - Middle-class Daimon
  • "Humans, Magic or otherwise, don't belong here. The King decreed it, because he cares about our people." - low class Daimon.

  Male Names: Ren, Torix, Lucean, Ilkane, Gillian, Yellen, Azorn, Minxad, Drillex, Ronen.   Female Names: Frenway, Sirella, Erina, Xilla, Harper, Yillow, Norla, Vixen, Kite, Lorna.   Family Names: Gregor, Rilo, Ren, Julix, Soreno, Drilliat, Zereno, Hecretia, Barrios.

Ability Score Increase

Your strength score increases by +1 and your Constitution score increases by +1  

Size

depending on your subrace, this could be different, but the generic Daimon Size is Medium, with most averaging at the height of a generic Human. (4-7 feet)  

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.  

Darkvision

accustomed to the gloomy landscape of Alea, Daimons have a superior ability to see in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. you cannot discern colour in darkness, only shades of Grey.  

Languages

Due to your upbringing in Alea, you will have learnt both Alean and English in school.  

Hot Blood

The conditions of Alea mean that Daimons have adapted to have a resistance to heat, meaning you have a resistance to fire damage.  

Half Dead

In order to have your magic, your soul is split in half, meaning that you are only half alive, This gives you an immunity to necrotic damage.  

Magical Blood

You are proficient in Arcana.   At 1st level you have the spell "Magic Missile" At 3rd level you gain the spell "Control Flames"  

Portal Creation

You can create a portal that moves between the human world and Alea, you can make this portal anywhere within 200 miles of the sea on on earth, or within a Portal Well in Alea.  

Mana

you have 500 unfiltered mana orbs at 1st level and that amount can grow, so you have 5 mana points at 1st level and gain 1 point every time your character levels up. 5 mana points (+1 per level)  

Transform

spend 1 mana point to switch between appearing human and appearing as a Daimon.

Eron Daimon

  Eron Daimon are descended from Gilderan, the firstborn brother, in his section of the ancient fable, he heals a Zilk, the creature which Daimon's magic comes, which he found injured in the woods. In order to repay Gilderans kindness, the Zilk gifted him a 300 year-long life, as well as several other magical abilities and traits.  

Appearance

Eron Daimon are medium build and have the beautiful golden eyes of a Zilk, as well as their long deer-like ears and a third eye in the centre of their forehead. This line of descendency has typically light hair and pale skin, which is smooth and radiant.  

Traits

Eron have a natural affinity for learning and healing. These Daimon's are natural scholars and healers, mostly upper or middle class, and keeping away from the lower parts of society, typically raised to believe they are better than everyone else. Due to an event from long ago, this subrace is wary around other magical creatures and tend to keep to themselves, they value honesty and learning, and despise greed and power.

Your intelligence score increases by +1  

Higher intelligence

You have an advantage on saving throws against being charmed.  

Spells

  • At 1st level, you have access to the cantrip, "Spare the Dying" and the 1st level spell "Healing word".
  • At 3rd level, you gain access to the 1st level spell, "Cure wounds".
 

Extra spell

Bonus action - spend one mana point to cast an extra spell at the end of your turn in combat.  

Mana Surge

When casting a spell on your turn, you may spend 3 mana points to double or reroll all of the rolls made for that spell.    

Atu Daimon

  Atu Daimon are descended from Hecreto, the second of the three brothers. In the fable, Hecreto finds a Zilk under an oak tree and approaches it with an arm outstretched. He befriends and tames the Zilk and is gifted several abilities and characteristics that were passed down to his children and his children's children.  

Appearance

Atu Daimon have typically very dark skin and dark hair, they have inherited the Zilk's golden eyes, though this subrace has no white in the eyes, only black. Instead of the deer-ears like the Eron, Atuls have large antler-like horns that grow from the top of their forehead, resembling those of a deer.  

Traits

Hecreto married Roya, the princess of the east and the mother of royalty throughout Earth and Alea, and their daughter Erina, inherited this crown after her death, and upon moving to Alea, became the first queen of Alea, while her brother, Orpheus, inherited kingship of the East. The Hecreto bloodline is full of Kings, Queens and noblemen, following along a matriarchal line starting with the eldest daughter. Female Atu Daimon are high valued in society, and stand mainly as high priestesses in the reaches, sacred to the land and promised never to marry. Because of the high marital standards, the Atu is extremely rare, and only the very top of society sees any Atu Daimon. The king or Queen can only be an Atu Daimon.

Spells

  • At 1st level, you have access to the cantrip, "friends" and the 1st level spell, "Command"
  • At 3rd level, you gain access to the 2nd level spell, "Detect thoughts"

Natural Charm

spend one mana point to add 1d6 to any roll when charisma is the modifier.    

Ultimate Triumph

spend 3 mana points to double all of your attacks rolls on this turn.  

Rin Daimon

  Rin Daimon are descended from Barretto, the third and last of the three brothers. In the fable, Barretto finds a Zilk and shoots it with a poisoned arrow. For his interaction with the Zilk, he gained several abilities and characteristics belonging to the mythical creature. Although he never fathered any children, he adopted around 100 young orphans in and around 170 BA. These adopted children were all gifted a portion of his magic, and the fact that they were not siblings meant that the amount of purebred Rin Daimon offspring way surpassed that of his two brothers. This subrace is extremely common in both Alea and the Human Realm.  

Appearance

Rin Daimon look the most like Humans and have the ability to transform between a human form and a demon form. They inherited the bright golden eyes and the cow-like horns of the Zilk, growing out from the Rin Daimon's foreheads. Other than these traits, Rin Daimon look exactly like a human would, in all their varieties. this is becuase there is no blood connection to Barretto, only the magic was passed down.  

Traits

Rin Daimon are typical fighters and workers. They frequent both middle class and lower class society, with a few gracing the upper reaches. This subrace tends to be hot-headed and strategic, with almost all parents enrolling their Rin children in Barrett academy, a school that trains young Daimons for the royal army. Rin Daimon are the most excepting, though may boast of the fact that their bloodline created Alea and all that it is.

Childhood Training

Since toddlerhood, you would have been trained in resistance and stength. you have an advantage on saving throws against being restrained or exhausted.  

Little Smithy

It is a rin tradition to forge a sword on your birthday every year, meaning you have a proficiency with smiths tools.

Spells

  • At 1st level, you have access to the cantrip, "Thaumaturgy" and the 1st level spell, "Thunderous Smite"
  • At 3rd level, you gain access to the 2nd level spell, "Cloud of Daggers"
 

Conserve energy

 
when you drop below 5 hit points, you can spend 3 mana points to enter a state of conservation. in this state you take half damage and heal 1d6 hit points every minute you are in the state. You cannot use any actions when conserving energy, and you break out of the state if you are knocked unconscious.
