Grey Skin
As Albenites age, they are sometimes afflicted by this very visible condition where their skin losses color and turns grey.
Causes
This condition only appears in the elderly around the age 160 are the earliest cases, however there are no known causes or risk factors.
Symptoms
Those who get Grey Skin will often first notice symptoms as their skin losses the characteristic color that the Albenites are known for. Some this skin stay a dull white color but others will then start to darken, turning grey. The darkening can be just to a light grey look, to almost black.
Treatment
There are no known treatments to it in the current time. However in the past their are records of it being treated by magical means.
Affected Groups
The old are the only ones affected, and it is more common in males then females.
Prevention
There are many suggestions on how to prevent this disease. They range from praying, to standing out in the moon light overnight, to eating lots of carrots. Though nothing has been proven to work many still fallow these recommendations.
History
This condition has been known all though the ages, though it has picked up in frequency around the time the current era began. Many believe that its origins are magical, being perhaps a curse put on thier people and the absence of magic has only made it worse.
Cultural Reception
There is a mixed reception of the illness. Some say that it is a gift of the moons and represents his wise someone is. While the more vocal majority of people believe that this is a curse revealing all the bad someone has done in their life, the darker the skin turns the worse of a person they were.
