Blood Bound Blade

A dark blade, shape in the form of a Wuxian long sword this blade seems to be tinged with red, sporting a long blood channel on both sides. The handle has long, off white wrappings which trail off in an impractical manner, but never seem to get in the way or be graspable by an opponent. The one side of its guard has a cruel, jagged point of black metal, with an encircling channel which connects tot he blood channel of the blade.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

• Magical weapon: This blade is considered magic, and deals magic damage.

• Blood Bind: As a bonus action, an attuned person can prick their hand on the jagged guard and say the command word. This unleashes the blades full magic, and cannot be cancelled by the user until 1 minute finishes. The effect is a curse, and does not get effected by dispel magic, or counter magic. The wraps on the handle bind along the forearms, making you unable to do anything else with your hands beside wield the blade. You cannot be disarmed during this state.

• Blood Must Flow: The user decides how much vitality to invest from 1d4-1d12 hp per round, this in turn is the extra necrotic damage the wielder deals per successful hit added onto the base weapon attack. This is fueled by the weapon dealing 1/2 of the chosen damage die to the user per round as necrotic damage. This damage cannot be resisted or mitigated in anyway.

• Easier to Kill you With: While Blood bound, you gain the reach property and gain advantage on intimidation checks.

• Give and Take: You heal for the portion of damage dealt dictated by the damage that is done that is necrotic. This heal is not gained on creatures that are not living such as constructs and undead.

• Bad Influence: This weapon is emotional sapient, it will fuel negative emotions that will encourage its use. The wielder of the weapon has disadvantage on persuasion checks. It constantly emits a feeling of hunger that is not sated by food.
