Ala'Taria

763PDM/4/21

Created by

A'Taria, a land wrought from the times primordial. Birthed by the Elemental Titans, it was wild and chaotic for eons. They wandered, created, and put aspects of them selves into the un-sculpted world. The Titan of Water birthed the seas and lakes, the Earth Titan formed the mountains and the plains, and the Air Titan formed the winds and the weather. And so it persisted, until they imparted to much of themselves, and in folly, created the Gods.   What followed was known as, "The Great Sundering", and the Titans were laid waste. The force of their conflict rent the land, split the seas, and sent the weather into tumult. In a last ditch effort, the Titans spread their essence across the world to separate the planes of divinity from A'Taria, to protect their creation. This act of desperation prevented the Gods from directly interacting with A'Taria, but the will of the titans was lost, and their bodies faded into the primal aspects of the world.   Then, something un-foreseen happened, the titans essences seeded the world-scape and gave rise to myriads of lifeforms. This new development amused the Gods and they manipulated, interacted, and competed to the best of their ability across the void. Each, growing more powerful, by having more faithful. Eventually, different lifeforms tended to deviate to different beliefs and the world settled and civilization started to develop. Life mingled, religions grew and faded, civilizations rose and fell, and the world turned on. Eventually a mingling of life occurred and the first great civilization arose.   The intermingling of Dwarf and Elf, known as the Dwellgar, was the beginning of change. The strength and skill of the dwarfs, mixed with the arcane knowledge and charisma of the elves made a dominant force to be feared and respected. The Dwellgar Dominion, The Iron Empire, The Will of Stone and Wood, however it was known, it placed the majority of the world under its mighty eye and hand. For just over a millennium, the Dwellgar were un-assailable, un-approachable, and un-rivaled. They brought order, enforced peace, and made extraordinary technological and arcane marvels. As with all great things, hubris became the downfall, and the Dwellgar fell.   The world feel back into chaos and much history was lost. In the current age, post dominion, no-one can recall what exactly led to the fall. The borders were to large, the politicians were corrupt, or an insidious force tore it apart from the inside. Alas, all theories bantered around by historians and drunkards. Now the world re-builds, city states erupt into power on the bones of old empire or on the technology and artifacts of the lost age. As the Nations and City states grow in power, they flex their might and the world is once more on the brink of conflict. All awaiting a spark, to ignite the world into new conflict, and new chaos.
