The Undying Soldier

The Soldier was the essence of war. He gave strength to warriors before battle and gave the will to survive to soldiers on the brink of death. The Cataclysm showed him the horrors others saw in war. Endless death, pointless death. He could not bear it, he could not stand watching so many fall to something they could not fight back to, it was unfair.

He tried to take his own life rather than watch the Cataclysm any longer. But a god's life is hard to end even for the god themselves and he survived in a sense. His wounds never heal, the pain never ends but he endures. Not quite living, not quite dead.

The church of the Undying Soldier is more like a military. His clergy are all trained in combat and those of great skill are given a fragment of the weapon he wielded, the Relic Blade. They fight alongside the Akram Rangers when the need arises. Behind closed doors they experiment with weapons and ways to kill, wound and maim and ways to survive and endure these wounds. Hoping to find a way to either cure their god or put him out of his misery.
