Session 6 - The Fall of Corazon
General Summary
The party returned from the surface with Shard who used a magical ring to disguise himself as a plain looking human.
Returning to the Crimson Tear Church the party saw Victor Graves leaving, apparently still following the trail of Knox.
Inside the church the party found Paladin Garret Lyrus talking with Sorrowful Merrow. He congratulated Ekta on her victory in the gauntlet and let her know that he had heard interesting rumours from The Storm Tower of a dangerous creature in the city. Sorrowful Merrow was keeping Lyrus from helping in his attempts to keep the party's involvement a secret. Lyrus promised that if the rumours were true and Ekta could help stop this creature that there would be a promotion to Knight on the cards.
Shard kept his word and cured Charles though mentioned that the process is taxing on the person and that it may take a couple of weeks or so for Charles to awaken from his rest.
Deciding how best to fight the mindflayer the party settled on setting up an ambush in the Varlock Market Square. The party enlisted the aid of Mekno and his deputy alongside Paladin Lyrus and Squire Callix.
The mindflayer arrived with some cultist aid and while Knox and Ekta kept the mindflayer busy and blinded, Shard worked on the ritual to revert the transformation. The party's allies focusing on holding back and dealing with the mindflayer's cultist allies and brought most of them down bar a couple who managed to flee. The ritual succeeded and the mindflayer reverted to his original form, a haggard looking elf.
As promised Lyrus granted Ekta a position as Knight and Luminary Investigations named gained some good reputation within the city. The exact details of what went on were kept quiet however and the party received 1000 gold as a reward for their service and as hush money to keep quiet and go with the official story line.
