Fending River

So named because it fended off some of the undead creatures averse to flowing water during the War of Undeath, the Fending River is Akkadia's largest river. Its origins lie high in the Alabaster mountains, and it flows down to the east of The City, bisecting the island. Several bridges span the river, and many of the farming settlements of the island use it as an irrigation source.
Previous to the War of Undeath, the river was known coloquially as Dearnan's Folly, formally as the Bountiful Harvest.

Fauna & Flora

Several species of fish inhabit the river, including Akkadian Trout, the river's primary catch. Also, a peculiar form of algae grows in the river which some claim to have potent medicinal benefits.
