Dwarven District
The northeastern district of Akkadia. Due to its proximity to the mountains that run the length of the northern reaches of Akkadia, this is where the dwarves of the City settled. After a milennia of dwarven habitation, the district has become built-up in classical dwarven style: hearty, stonework buildings with striking details, exquisite craftsmanship, and a distinct lack of parks and trees. The most striking piece of architecture is the Mountain Under the Mountain, a huge stone building mirroring almost exactly the mountains that can be seen peeking out from behind the walls of the City. It is home to the banks and legal offices of the district, which comprises the most valuable services the dwarves currently offer the City.
The dwarves, always mistrustful of outsiders, have also conscripted their own militia to guard the streets of the district. They are comprised of native dwarves and hired mercenaries alike, and they owe no formal allegiance to the City itself.
