Umber Spire (ˈʌmbɚ spˈa͡ɪ͡ɚ)
The Umber Spire is the Spire of Theurgy at the centre of the Umber Ring in the city of Tor Tirista in the Iressar Conclave.
Architecture
The Umber Spire is made from white stone and grey marble in the traditional style of the Elves: natural shapes that seem to flow into each other to form a tower that reaches 450 feet into the sky and appears so thin that a single gust could knock it over. It features many tall windows on the sides, but sports no door, and the very top of the tower is crowned with a glass dome, allowing sight over the city.
History
Campaign 1
On the 18th of Prothalis, 1172 PC, the Umber Spire suffered substantial damage as a result of a raid by agents of the Queen of Air and Darkness, trying to recover a relic."The Elf and the Faerie" (1x9)
An ear-splitting explosion echoed across the ring about 60-70 feet up the side of the tower, leaving a gaping hole in its side. A trio of distant figures jumped from the tower. They hover and dance in the air, which swells with the tang of metal as the Umber Spire itself begins listing to one side, debris dropping onto the streets below—and stops. The Spire hangs at an angle, its momentum arrested by the magic you feel in the air.
"Returns and Materials" (1x17)
Having been restored to its previous glory, the Umber Spire was no longer tilted but once again stood proud within the Umber Ring.
