Tabaxi (tˈæbæksi)
The Tabaxi are a race of cat-like humanoids in Crochan.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Tabaxi have feline heads like those of panthers, jaguars, or other cats while conforming to the four-limbed nature of most races in existence. Their bodies are covered in fur and possess cat-like hands and feet with retractable claws, as well as tails. Tabaxi from cold environments typically have thicker fur. Tabaxi are typically taller than humans, standing between 5 and 6 ½ feet tall. Most are relatively slender for their size, averaging around 145 pounds.
A tabaxi's claws can be used as natural weapons, and also allow them to be deft climbers. They're extremely agile, and capable of incredible bursts of speed. Their feline eyes also give them the ability to see in the dark.
Civilization and Culture
History
Tabaxi are said to have been born from the dreams of Melora, the Wildmother, in the jungles of Crochan. Within Akhiilor, clans of Tabaxi cat-folk live along the Aurix Coast, alongside the native Auri'an peoples. Tabaxi can be found in small numbers across all of Akhiilor, where they are generally well thought of. Many live an entrepreneurial existence, thanks to their skill in hunting, crafts, and social guile. Others live adventurous lives, their curiosity driving their movements across the lands.
