The Tale of the Last Giant King

A great deal was lost during the Salardian War from both the giants and the dragons, but, after The Divine Exodus, when the gods were forced to leave the Material Plane, it was clear that the giants lost more, with the last king of the giant, Ygnafar, was among one of the fallen, practically ending the reign of the giant civilisation in the Kingdom of Salardia. It is said that Ygnafar, in his dying breath, after being slain by the last dragon lord, Urill-ith, cursed the lands of Salardia, proclaiming that if his people cannot have a home him, than neither shall the dragons. His curse has become some what of a famed poem in the modern age, reading:
As long as my body remains,
I will deprive you of any fame,
For the storm will force me to stand,
Remaining sentinel in my land

This place will become a frozen waste,
And even as the flesh is rent from my face,
My curse shall raise the vengeful dead,
As long as this jewel sits atop my head.

True to the curse, Ygnafar's corpse remains a towering reminder of the war's terror, his flesh now rent from his bones as his skeleton remains frozen in place in the middle of the now frozen wastes of Salardia, facing in the direction of Dranocast, as if he is still seeking his revenge, even after death. Many who travel to Salardia avoid Ygnafar's corpse, saying that it is the centre of the curse, with undead creatures of the snow still walking long after the war ended.
