The Darks

Perhaps the most unique tavern in Kratas , the Darks is hidden deep in The Safehearths , loceted in a windowless basement that can only be accessed by a number of secret entrances, camouflaged in the walls of back alleys.
The only light is a pair of sputtering oil lamps hanging from the ceiling, giving the entire tavern the feeling of being comprised of shadowy darkness. There is a simple bar in one corner and the rest of the furniture is a collection of old tables and chairs, none of which match. The patrons of this bar all seek esoteric and occult knowledge. There are never more than two dozen in the pub, mostly made up of Nethermancers, Wizards and morbid Illusionists. Others who are here are often accused of being Questors of Mad Passions, Horror touched or members of various cults. Many of the patrons show up masked. Attempting to astrally sense or probe others is not allowed, though this is an unwritten rule. There are even rumors that some of the patrons are beings such as Dragon or even Horrors.
One of the main trades of the Darks is the exchange of information, particularly that pertaining to the Netherworlds, Horrors, the Scourge and the Mad passions.
Because the patrons know the power Names have, many limit the amount of which they refer to the tavern, and often give it a different name such as the "Place," "Saloon," "Cellar," "Pit," and the "Mists" among others. Thus far, as a result, nobody has been able to weave threads to this place.
The esixtence of th Darks is not very well known, and it is only found when directed to it by a previous patron. Sometimes, a patron's favored secret passage into the tavern will disappear, possibly at the behest of the mysterious barkeeper.
