Return from Dar Gova Report

General Summary

The party returns from the Dar Gova mine with the surviving members of the Balderk dwarf clan. Setanta removes the head of the illithid and takes it as a trophy. They get a little lost on their return to Giantshead Bay, and are ambused by a Corpse Flower, which appears to have eaten an Illithid. Upon returning to Fisher Castle, they are informed by Feyd Hengehold that Lady Iria Hengehold has been held under house arrest in her townhouse on suspicion of murder. Candor Voss appears to have been poisoned by a bottle of wine from Iria's private collection, which she provided to all of the delegates. Voss had been voicing the loudest opposition to Iria's plans before he died, suggesting a possible motive for her to kill him. One member of Voss's retinue, a halfling servant, has disappeared. She may be another victim, or have had a hand in his murder. They inform Theuris Strongarm about what happened at the Dar Gova mine. They give him a copy of the book of dwarven history they found and ask him to research the illithids and Abzuroth to see what, if anything, he can discover. He agrees to send word to Vance and Niweden Vaar, a large dwarf kingdom to the east. Sentanta decides to reach out to his criminal contacts to see what he can find out about the The Gorria. The team decides they will brief Iria on what is going on during the next session. Predent Soren Gal explains that due to his close association with Iria, he has to appear completely neutral with regard to this investigation in order to avoid claims he is biased in her favor. If anything, he will attempt to appear suspicious of her. After being briefed by Benn about the events at Dar Gova, he has agreed to send an expedition to Galveston to try to retrieve the Ang Lia Fail, which the PCs believe may be one of the Hallows of the Crimson King. The sale of the Dragon's Tooth is still underway. A buyer should be appearing shortly.
