Monastary of the Distressed Body

The Monastery was once a flying city, or part thereof, from the Warped Lands which was then known as Raylean. It travelled, perhaps as a refuge ship from Raylean to Aerilon, after which it was left in its resting place atop a caldera in the Mortarcliffe mountains. It was discovered by Aluxis, who by accident released devils to overtake the monastery. The devils had an internal conflict, and one was victorious and became known as the Grandmaster, and all other devils and disciples of Aluxis became brains trapped inside of jars, to automate the workings of the complex Monastery systems. Over long years after Aluxis left, the monastery has drawn hundreds of dark recruits to its hidden location, through both whispered rumor and dark outreach to criminals seeking refuge from the law. Though the vast majority of those recruits have perished or been imprisoned at the hands of the Grand Master, twenty-five monks — all a motley assemblage of evil humanoids — until they and their master was defeated by the The Guild Pact. Currently the Monastery is run by Aluxis Vinstrad and his disciples. Included in this domain is the Ooze Flooded City of Daoine Gloine.
