The Yuzuth Uplands

The party travels through the Yuzuth Uplands on their way from Caliphus to Takka. During their journey through, Frith will suggest they make camp somewhere specific. During the night, Triss spots him sneaking away and follows him. When she catches up to him, she’ll find him kneeling beside 2 graves outside a burned down house. Frith begins to sob (this being one of the first times he shows real vulnerable emotions) and Triss goes to comfort him. Instead of trying to hide his sorrow or getting angry, he tells Triss a story about when he lived in the house with his wife and daughter and how they were murdered by bandits. The graves belong to his dead family and he’s come to pay respects and remember them. After this he starts to care much more deeply for Triss and shares a deeper connection with her. After this they return to the campsite and later continue on until they reach Takka.

Geography

The Yuzuth Uplands is a hilly region in the south of Ixios. The landscape is covered by thick, rough grass and is notably identified by its abundant presence of purple heather. The land is completely uncultivated and unfarmed. The people who live in the region live mostly by foraging and raising sheep. The uplands were once home to a tribe called the Yuzuth, hence the name. They lived in the region for many, many years before moving north past the Azura rainforests. The Yuzuth built roads and had specific trails that cross the hills, but over time the trails have mostly been lost and forgotten. Traces of the Yuzuth can found dotted around the uplands in the way of ruined structures and segments of road.
