The Azura Lumewood

After obtaining the Key of Alda and the Foxwood Scroll, the party visits Frith’s mother to see if she might be able to read the scroll. Unfortunately she cannot and instead send them to Dologost to the Great Library of Morra as someone there might be able to translate it. In order to get to Dologost, the party must first travel through the Azura Lumewood. Once there the party is amazed by the scenery and the way everything looks. They must navigate their way through the forest without getting lost or trapped by creatures that lure them to their deaths, much in the same way an angler fish catches its prey. Once they safely get through the forest, they head northwest to Dologost.

Geography

The Azura Lumewood has been called one of the most peculiar places on Aerda. Residing in north central region of Ixios, the Azura contains flora and fauna not found anywhere else in the world. While the woods bordering the Azura are tropical in nature, the inner portions of the woods are illuminated by natural bio-luminescence.

Fauna & Flora

Due to an atmospheric phenomenon, the plants in this region are subject to gigantism. Towering, thick mushrooms can be found with bio-luminescent spores growing there, as well as alien looking flowers that also bloom with glowing petals in many different colors. Here there can be found unique types of rock and stone as well that glow dimly, some historians have claimed that the their luminescence seems to pulse between brighter and dimmer levels throughout the day. There are also creatures here that produce natural bioluminescence. Some are of the same species outside the Azura, but in the Lumwood, they somehow also glow. There has been no scholar to properly explain why this phenomenon occurs, or why only in this region of the world. However, because of its unique properties, one would expect many to visit there to sight-see, but there are many dangers in the rainforest and has been labeled unsafe by the local ruling authorities.
