Sahn

A Sahn is a high ranking chieftan in many tribal villages scattered throughout the Ebras Mountains. A Sahn is held in very high esteem by its village and is often respected by other villages as a man of great honor.

Qualifications

To become a Sahn, one must have been born and raised in a community to become a respected elder. The elder in question must be looked up to as a man of wise advice, and must have extensive knowledge of local rituals and ceremonies. Finally, to become a Sahn, the village must come together and unanimously decide that the elder is worthy of being their Sahn.

Duties

A Sahn must be available at all times to his people for council, advice, and direction. If the village ever has need for a representative in a legal capacity, this is the Sahn's responsibility. A Sahn also presides over any and all rituals or ceremonies that occur within the village.

Responsibilities

Since their is no enforced law within the mountains, it is the Sahn's responsibility to keep order. This includes maintaining peace and resolving any and all civil disputes.

Accoutrements & Equipment

A Sahn is given a ceremonial staff with precious stones imbued in the top as well as a colorful sash made of goat fur.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

After a Sahn can no longer perform his ceremonial duties, or can no longer give council or sound advice, they must step down and a new Sahn will be chosen. If in the case that a new Sahn cannot be agreed upon or found, it is up to the current one to appoint one or to delegate a respected member of the community to find one in a neighboring village willing to come and be their Sahn.
