Mostafa al-Menshahi

A man of great wit, and unshakable honor; he fought with grace for us all. Sha'alwe preserve him. -Epitaph of Mostafa al-Menshahi on his gravestone in Sharqafa

Mental characteristics

Education

Trained by the Windriders of the West for most of his young life, Mostafa became a master of the sword by age thirty, by which time he had already been employed by the Windriders as a novice.

Employment

Born into a military family, Mostafa's first occupation was learning how to fight from his father. When he was old enough, his skill caught the attention of the city watch, who took him on as a guard. During drill, he impressed a visiting Windrider of the East, who offered him a place in the Order, which he accepted at the age of 18. After that, he spent years serving honorably as a Windrider until the age of 44, when he was injured in battle by an arrow to his shoulder. He spent the next several years writing his most famous work: Dance of the Windblades. He finished it just two years before his death at the hands of the Knights of the Sun.
