Stalvania
The lands that now make up Stalvania was a few years ago an only loosely affiliated kingdom of small baronies and earldoms, with Stalvania only being one small barony amongst many. Held together only by a mutual disliking of their neighbors, none of the baronies ever really managed to gain the upper hand until Richard Stalvan arrived on the scene. Stalvan managed to unite the rest of the baronies and earldoms in an alliance with a combination of promises, bribes, threats and outright wars. While he has already spread his influence greatly the 15 years he has been ruling, his hunger shows no signs of abating.
Stalvania is well-known for its tradition of professional mercenary companies, with the crossbowmen of the nation being especially desired by those with coins to spend and enemies to kill.
The barony is culturally diverse, with many different races, faiths, and traditions living side by side. Though Richard Stalvan is now the ruler of the entirety of Stalvania, local nobles (Now making do with titles of Earl or Count) still hold great power in their local communities.
