Aucrystan
The Towering City
About Aucrystan
Perched atop the edge of the Sundown Scar ravine, Aucrystan - the oldest city in Istoria save for Estea itself - is a pale shadow of its former glory. It is primarily constructed of white and grey stone, reaching high into the sky in a vast, ornate tower that symbolises the lasting legacy its founders hoped to leave. Even the fashion here mirrors the architecture - extravagant, but mostly cloured in white and shades of grey. The people of Aucrystan - primarily merchants - are a proud sort, clinging to their city's former reputation, and the power and prestige that came with it. Once, Aucrystan was known as the Cornucopia of Istoria, and was one of the trading hubs of the nation. Goods imported between Yljan, Uskraal or Shetethra had to first pass through Aucrystan, leading it to thrive on the import and export of fine silks, furs and spices. The rising prominence of Airships has caused Aucrystan's importance to wane. Airships are now a more viable means to transport goods, cutting out the dangerous passes through the Hollow Heights or the landbridge leading to Shetethra. Aucrystan now relies more heavily on trade from the local quarries and mines than its import and export, and the loss of some of their status comes as a harsh sting to the pride of many of Aucrystan’s inhabitants.Industry & Trade

Architecture
White and grey stone and marble. The city is a single, towering structure. The white and grey colour palette is broken by accent colours on doors or window frames.
Geography
Sits on the edge of a the Sundown Scar, a canyon that leads down to the Night Sky Caldera. The Scar gives access to a network of tunnels and mines. Several breaches into the Underdark exist, though Aucrystan is hard pressed to keep those closed off.
