Ofelia Alyss Rosetta Carmein

Lady Ofelia Alyss Rosetta Carmein (a.k.a. 'Felia, Princess, and "Fifi" (will not hesitate to beat your ass so hard that all of your descendants feel it if you dare to call her this))

The strong-willed Aoidean Songstress and Scribe of Guild Fathmir.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Is the second fittest person in the guild after Thomas and the most agile person in the guild. Could probably benchpress both Wilton and Zachary at the same time and may or may not have a six pack.

Body Features

Dark brown skin tone with freckles and flowing, floral-like white tattoos that are traditional for an Aoidean. She also has medium-length, extremely curly, soft, light blonde hair, an hour glass-shape body, small, dainty hands and feet, and most definitely has a six-pack.

Facial Features

Has a heart-shaped face with big, turquoise eyes with the standard swirling irises of an Aoidean and long, thick eyelashes. In addition, she has a wide nose, full lips that always has a natural, deep red lipstick painted on, freckles, a swilring, white tattoo under her right eye, thin, dark eyebrows, and long, "frilly" typical Aoidean ears with various earrings and piercings attached.

Identifying Characteristics

Her ears, tattoos, freckles, hair and eyes.

Physical quirks

Is right handed, is very light-on her feet, and tends to rock on her heels when she's bored. Tends to also cross her arms a lot and tilt her head when she's confused about something. Also like most Aoideans, she often uses her hands a lot when speaking and her ears wiggle a little bit when excited. She also will roll her eyes a lot when annoyed and picks at her cuticles when anxious.

Special abilities

Standard Aoidean abilities that include a sonic wail, and being able to hit the right frequencies to cause nausea, dizziness, confusion, blindness, and if she really concentrates she can cause paralysis and unconsciousness. She has to be careful though as to not affect her teammates and obviously she is more immune to attacks from her fellow Aoideans, unless they are more skilled than her. Also if she sings the right words from Drowan she can gain a slight elemental edge to her sonic attacks (mostly water to her utter distaste) and the same can be said if she sings in High Faeryian which can cause her singing to either have a calming and even healing effect. So much so, that she's essentially the backup healer if Zachary's incapacitated.   She also of course has perfect pitch, can slightly mimic other voices, can throw her voice, and if she wasn't so afraid of the ocean/of drowning she would find that she could hold her breath for an extremely long-time as most Aoideans, be an excellent swimmer, and can stand extreme water pressure.

Apparel & Accessories

A gold barrette with an aquamarine stone inlaid and various turquoise crystals attached; big, gold hoop earrings with aquamarine tear drops and two gold cuffs on the same ear that have a chain connecting them; a gold choker that has three inlaid resonance stones plus 3 aquamarine tear drops; four large, gold bangles with a simple, turquoise geometric design and more aquamarine tear drops attached that she wears on both wrists and ankles; a cropped, powder blue camisole that she wears under an even shorter white, halter top with a gold and blue design, whose supporting straps criss-cross and are tied behind her neck that also have four extra off-the-shoulder straps attached with two on each side; on top of those two camisoles she has a flexible, dark grey waist-cincher; black shorts; an ombre light blue and white with gold embroidery, 3-tiered, frilly half-skirt tied to her waist where the ties have blue beads attached that signify her rank in the martial art style of Eirapo, a dark brown, leather belt with a white, swirling design etched into it, a gold and turquoise belt buckle with a lace-style cut border, and packs attached towards the back filled with supplies for missions; dark gray, fingerless bracers with knuckles and resonance stones attached to further enhance her physical attacks; light grey, stirrup thigh-highs with a lighter, lacy pattern on top; and knee-high "boots" that show her toes and also has resonance stones attached to make her kicks even more devastating.

Specialized Equipment

Resonance Stones attached to her choker, boots, and bracers that enhance both her Aoidean abilites and her physical attacks, said bracers with knuckles attached and boots that function as light-weight equipment.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Abandoned by her parents at a very young age, Ofelia ended up being adopted by the (in)famous Aoidean diva/Oprajanai aka a Noble person's own personal praise singer (or what is more colloquially known as a "Songbird), Faustina Odyle Kronia Carmein who saw great potential in the young orphan. From then on Ofelia was put through the most rigorous of training in order to become a Songbird, even greater than the likes of Faustina. But alas, she was obviously not the best parent Ofelia could ask for and would regularly expect her to be absolutely "perfect" each and every waking moment of her life. There was no time for personal pursuits, no time for friends. Everything in Ofelia's life was planned for her, whether she liked it or not, and It didn't take long for her to feel smothered. It didn't help that no matter how hard she trained, people never took her seriously, and thought that any little amount of success was strictly because of nepotism.   However, in what was probably her first choice of her own will, Ofelia decided to try and become a Lajili, or what is basically a traveling bard/cleric. She was always more concerned with preserving Aoidean history and culture anyways, and while it wasn't as prestigious as being an Orpajanai, felt that it was better to help her common man along with letting her see the world Faustina of course took great offense to that and promptly disowned Ofelia, citing her as a complete and total failure. Undeterred, Ofelia left home to apply as a Lajili candidate and worked herself to the bone in order to appease the Proctors. However, much to her horror, she found out that all of that hard work was for nothing and that yet again, her family name had messed up her chances for happiness with accusations of nepotism and confusion as to why some street urchin who was taken in by one of the most prestigious Aoidean families would give everything up to become a lowly Lajili... thus Ofelia was promptly rejected...   Again   And Again   And Again   Losing all hope and wanting to escape the shadow of her mother's influence, Ofelia moved to Chron for a fresh start. Unfortunately with only a few dozen Iris Amarans to her name, she wasn't really getting anywhere in the capitol city. That is, until she met Zachary Sanzieth and her fellow future roommates and joined in making a decision that would greatly impact the rest of her life: making a guild.

Education

Private Tutors: Was basically homeschooled for the first 5 years or so of her living with Faustina by the eponymous diva and other prominent tutors who educated her on various subjects ranging from math, literature, sciences, foreign languages, the study of Eirapo (an Aoidean martial art similar to Capoeira) and how to be a proper lady. However, the subjects that garnered the most focus were music and the arts; specifically singing, enunciation, mastery of various dancing styles, acting, etc.   The Maian Grand Conservatory: Extremely exclusive academy strictly for the Aoidean elite that educates students between the ages of 10 and older on the various arts with an emphasis on singing of course. While Ofelia excelled there academically, she greatly struggled there socially and due to Faustina's "controversial" reputation, she basically almost never got a chance. Everyone automatically assumed that she was just as snobbish as her foster mother and that any good marks she ever got were due to good ol' fashioned nepotism. No matter how hard Ofelia worked, any success was never attributed to her dedication and thus Ofelia would be further socially ostracized as years went on and on. Sure, in the beginning she tried to make many, many friends, only to later realize that any "friends" she actually made were only interested in her status and not herself. This caused her to become closed off until she moved to Ordes, Chron.

Employment

Lajili Candidate Maris Aphronan, Virva // 2573-2576 DEX: {15-18 years old} A Lajili is basically the Aoidean equivalent of a Historian/Storyteller/Cleric on top of being a praise singer/poet/musician for a town, city or settlement. Oral tradition is still highly important to Aoideans and even with the advent of radios, small towns and villages in Virva still rely on traveling Lajili to inform them on what's happening in the world or to tell them of a story from history or a legend. Not to mention they usually are the ones to invoke the blessing of Xephir for births, deaths, weddings, etc. While not as prestigious as an Opranajai, they are still highly respected. Ofelia lived with her local Lajili sect, studied all of the ancient hymns, traditions, etc., practiced till her feet bled and that still was never enough for them. She ended up getting promptly rejected and told to go back to her mother and finish her education at the Observatory. Instead she packed up and moved to Ordes, Chron for a new start and to find herself.   Guildmember (Registration: #ASTRQZ-*3 of Local Guild #ASTRQZ aka Guild Fathmir)//Part-Time Clerk at BlackHearst Books Ordes, Chron // 2586 DEX - Present {19 years old - } After moving in with the others into Zachary's Great Uncle's old apartment (and after Zachary had to get a[n expensive] permit to use a spatial space magick to warp space and magically add some extra rooms...), she officially became the third person to join Guild Fathmir as its Scribe (or what is basically the Guild's secretary). Along with Thomas, she is essentially the Guild's muscle and uses her expertise of Eirapo and her Aoidean abilities to decimate/incapacitate opponents. She also functions as a back-up healer when Zachary is unable too (whether he runs out of energy or he's straight up knocked out). When not on duty, she helps out at Zachary's bookstore as a clerk working the cash register.

Accomplishments & Achievements

-Consistently achieved high marks in all of her studies whether with tutors or at the Observatory -Would often get the lead role in any productions during her school years -Has a pretty decent following for her partwork romance story, which is one of the more popular serial novels in the Cogswatch Wordsmith Journal

Failures & Embarrassments

-Whenever she didn't get a perfect mark in school or from a tutor (she would always get punished) -Realizing that she didn't have any real friends at the Conservatory -Whenever Faustina showed up her school and acted like she owned the place -Getting rejected from the Lajili -Whenever her fellow guildmates do or say something stupid

Mental Trauma

Is Thalassophobic (fear of oceans) and has a phobia of drowning as well due to a traumatic childhood event. Not to mention she has a perfection complex due to how she was raised and tends to fall into bouts of extreme anxiety if she doesn't perfectly achieve something on her first try.

Intellectual Characteristics

Is incredibly musically, rhythmically, and linguistically inclined. Tends to learn and retain information better rhythmically and is very book smart as well, whether through words or sheet music.

Morality & Philosophy

Heavily believes in justice and kindness (unless Wilton is involved...), but due to her upbringing she tends to think that everyone always has an ulterior motive.

Taboos

Standard taboos: necrophilia, pedophilia, bestiality, stealing, rape, any kind of abuse, etc.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Prove to everyone that all of her accomplishments were done by herself and not through her mother's influence, and that she's her own person. Also to become a Lajili to help people.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Is excellent at: singing, dancing, acting, improvisation, martial arts (specifically Eirapo), gymnastics, creative writing, is probably the only one in the guild other than Wilton that has an actual fashion sense, playing various instruments (especially string instruments such as the Quopa), reading music, writing music, memorization, diplomacy and is overall pretty booksmart.   Is horrible at: cooking, sewing, most arts and crafts activities, drawing, swimming (mostly due to her phobias of the ocean and drowning), taking genuine criticism (it just ends up reminding her of living back with Faustina, and she'll either lash out or shut down), and working in a team. To further explain she'll often go on ahead by herself during missions which usually mess up any strategy Zachary might have. Throughout her life, Faustina drilled into her that she can only rely on herself and that she doesn't need anybody else. She is the leading lady and that's all she needs to know. Obviously this psychologically messed Ofelia up a little bit. However, over time she gets over this and starts working better and better with the team (as do the others because honestly Wilton and Thomas aren't that great working with a team in the beginning either...)

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: hanging around Thomas and Zachary, singing, discussing the latest novels with Zachary, writing stories, playing the Quopa (a lute/harp-like instrument), being appreciated, and being complimented on for her singing, smacking Wilton/seeing Wilton get some comeuppance, some of the more "old school" Aoidean hymns admittedly, Chronan "Passion" Plays, plays and music in general, going to festivals, history, "cheesy and cliche" romance stories (as long as the male love interest isn't an asshole), tea, honey, lemons, Idonean apples, fruit and seafood in general, maji fish, prawns, grilled squid, ham omelets, and performing.   Dislikes: Oceans, feeling like she's going to drown, Wilton, Wilton when he tries flirting/messing with her, being ignored or belittled/criticized, seeing people take her culture as a joke, divas who think that they can do no wrong and that criticism doesn't need to exist, people who think that Aoideans are nothing more than "silly songbirds," coffee, milk, alcohol, and peanut butter.

Virtues & Personality perks

Compassionate, defends the weak, determined, practical, and diligent.

Vices & Personality flaws

Can get rather snobbish and pretentious about things (mostly music and other stories), lets her perfectionist complex get the best of her by procrastinating a lot, and can also be rather prideful and stubborn.   Ofelia is also obsessed with Chronan "Passion Plays" (aka melodramas) and is basically a huge fangirl for several plays such as "The Butterfly's Embrace," "The Wind Calls," and "The Many Passions of Lady Mystique." She is so obsessed in fact that she is part of a major enthusiast group that meets up once a month to discuss any new plays, and publishes a rather, thick journal (that for it she writes what is essentially fanfiction and some original plays of her own design) that is dedicated to Passion Plays as a whole. Not to mention, she has literally gotten into physical fights with some of her fellow members over them stating that for instance a plucky, young female lead character should only end up with the "interesting" and "brooding" duke who tried to swindle her of her rightful inheritance and who was honestly a total asshole altogether. Honestly, Ofelia is obsessed with cheesy and cliche romance stories as a whole.

Personality Quirks

Her tea has always have 1 lemon slice and 5 teaspoons of honey in it exactly, she plays with her hair, picks at her nails, and also bites her lip when she's nervous, she needs 2 cups of tea and 3 cups of lemon water to drink before she does performing of any kind, tries to make every single one of her gestures seem graceful as hell, will do the entire cursebreaking routine if anyone dares to mention the Fauranosian Play's title near her, will snap at anyone who ever dares to say "Good luck" to her, and as mentioned before she tends to roll on her heels when she's bored.

Hygiene

Is tied with Wilton with the most complicated and over-involved hygiene routine in the entire house. Due to constantly having the phrase "Appearances are everything" drilled into her head her entire life, she always tries to look her best and not have a single hair out of place. Is screwed however if she ever gets a tear in clothes, since she'll usually have to go to Zachary to try and fix it. Back when she lived with Faustina, if her clothes got torn, they would usually be thrown out with the rubbish and she would be given new ones. Since she has a more limited wardrobe compared to her old one, she's had to begrudgingly live with visible stitches and patches. Now on the topic of her room however...it's essentially a disaster with notes and inkwells strewn across the place. Since she's always had a maid growing up that would clean up after her, she of course has no idea how to clean anything, but she is learning. Slowly. Ironically, her makeup is meticulously organized though.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Is affliated with the Maian Grand Conservatory, The Ordes Chapter of the Passion Play Enthusiasts Coalition, The Cogswatch Wordsmith Journal, The Lajili Corp, and Virvish/Aoidean high society.

Family Ties

Ofelia's adoptive family has many ties within Virvish high society and due to her mother's past as an Oprajanai to the ruler of Virva itself, they have many ties to the royal family as well.

Religious Views

Is actually pretty religious and is a devout worshipper of Xephire.

Social Aptitude

Due to either being ostracized or singled out for her connection to her mother, Ofelia has been mostly closed off socially and primarily focused on her artistic career. However once she moved to Chron and became part of Guild Fathmir, she slowly opened up and after falling in love with Passion Plays and joining an enthusiast coalition, she's a regular social butterfly. Once freed of her mother's influence and her name, Ofelia was finally able to make real connections, though her interactions can sometimes be a bit stilted and overly formal depending on how nervous she is.

Mannerisms

Like most Aoideans, she tends to use her hands to make gestures while speaking and due to being raised by Faustina, she knows how to get all attention centered on her.

Hobbies & Pets

Pets: Has no pets of her own but she is fond of Zachary's dog and aquafir   Hobbies: Reading, going to Chronan "Passion" Plays, discussing said stories with people including Zachary, going to the Ordes Chapter of Passion Play Enthusiasts' meetings and then proceeding to get into arguments with fellow members who think that an unrepentant asshole gentleman character did nothing wrong and that the virtuous female character who is canonically disgusted and revolted by him should love him so that she can redeem him, singing, performing, playing the quorpa (a lute/harp type instrument), practicing Eiraipo (a Capoeira-style martial art that is unique to Aoideans and that Ofelia is a master of), hanging out with Thomas and Zachary, putting Wilton in his place, and dancing

Speech

Clear, even, and confident with a lyrical, Virvish accent. Very well-spoken and one can tell that she has a more noble background than her fellow guildmates. Also due to her Aoidean abilities and training, she has a very big range and she can even mimic other people's voices and accents if she tries hard enough.

Wealth & Financial state

Before she left her adoptive mother she was rather wealthy and was essentially an Virvish Aoidean noble. However, after leaving she is basically lower middle class with a guild that is regularly struggling to stay above the poverty line. Well that is until they rescued the elder Chronan Princess and are starting to earn more money...

The beautiful and passionate Aoidean Diva and Scribe of Guild Fathmir. While she may look too delicate and lady-like to fight, rest-assured that this "Passion Play" enthusiast will not hesitate to get her hands dirty if push comes to shove.

Known Languages
-Common Adiran - (Most common speaking language in all four countries)   -High Faeryian - ("High Class" Albion dialect that while is more used in Albion religious ceremonies, ended up becoming the basis of modern protective/healing magick. Ofelia knows a lot of hymns in this language that grant various defensive and healing effects in combat)   -Aoi'Ly'Rician - (Aoidean Virvish dialect that Aoidean nobility considered to "vulgar." Ofelia's mother "instructed" her on how to no longer use it and Ofelia will refuse to speak it unless she unknowingly slips into it in a rage)   -Drowan - (Albion dialect with an eldritch lit that became the basis of modern spellcasting. Knows a lot of hymns in this language as well that will usually induce a more offensive effect in combat )
