The Nation of Denyth
Denyth is the powerhouse military nation of the western world, dominating even Agranillis in sheer numbers and force. Their barbarian-like warfare makes them a force to be reckoned with, but the constant war with their neighbors, the Kingdom of Agranillis, has produced a number of problems, beginning with the defensive tactics devolved. They mainly use mounted spearmen, but the increasing number of costly maneuvers and defensive formations developed by High Brigadiers and other officers of their enemies has cost them copious amounts of troops and supplies.
Denyth trades with all nations, even their enemy Agranillis. Prior to the Endless War in 6739 S.M., Denyth and Agranillis were allies and commonly used each others troops for defense of the north western world. But after a misunderstanding, the two have been at war since.
Structure
The King is surrounded by an elected group of 'Protectionists', who can override his decisions if they rule it is against the true will of the populous. The King can levy taxes unimpeded, but must be wise because of the constantly tumultuous state of the society.
Public Agenda
Denyth is a warlike kingdom, always seeking to extend its borders. They do not have the support or condemnation of the Holyfire Seven, even sometimes fighting with or fighting against the mages. Agranillis has been struggling over a small town, Blaradeu, with Denyth for nearly three hundred years, dating back to 6739 S.M.
The King always wants to satisfy his people, and thus, they abstain from war for the final two months of every year, giving families time to be together.
Assets
Denyth owns a vast hoard of gems and minerals, which they accrue from mass mining the mountains in their territory. Nearly half of Denyth is employed in mining. This in turn brings in mass amounts of gold and silver, almost half of which is used to fund the immense military.
Denyth has a standing army of ten thousand, spread throughout the nation. The majority wield spears or other pole weapons, which are cheap for the metal mining nation.
