Chancers

Summary   The Chancers are an ancient species of humanoids, dating back before the beginning of the second millennium. They're life span is recorded to be between 800 and 1200 years, making their lifespan at least 10 times longer than that of their distant relatives. Their strong and stalky build makes them excellent assassins, but not a strong military force on the open field. This drove them to the edge of extinction, when the six inland coast nations banded together to become The Coalition of Shields. Their sole mission was to destroy the Chancers, who they deemed to be 'unfit' to live. With the help of the Holyfire Seven, they nearly succeeded, but Geeral Stormoore and some other families escaped to the Abandoned Isle.   Powers   Chancers possess no natural magic or powers, but they can wield weaponry which no other mortal can wield because of their immense strength. They also have access to a number of underground caves which no one else knows of, making them be able to hide or escape in great distances completely undetected. These combined make them invaluable assassins for political, personal, or vengeful warfare.   Extinction   Many believe the Chancers have long gone extinct, but Equillis and his followers linger, although they have been displaced into The Hellestic Chrome.
