Trial of Music and Dance

The Trial of Music and Dance is the first trial in the Trials of Succession between Amicus and Cassius for the title of emperor of Adastra. This trial involves contestants a Wolven instrument solo as well as a singing solo, broadcast to the masses. The final test of the trial is a dance routine of the The Legend of Drusus and Meera with the contestants and their pets.

Synopsis

After Amicus misses a mentoring session with Cato, the acting emperor commits to the trials for succession of the emperorship. Amicus informs Marco that he is in need of his participation in order to have a chance of winning. Marco agrees and Amicus tells him it will be a simple win but Amicus does not practice the routine with Marco until just a few days before because of his embarrassment over the required kiss at the end of the dance. As the initial tests of the trial go on Marco wonders if Amicus is doing well because everything is so alien to him, slowly getting more and more nervous. When the dance finally occurs, Marco is unable to remember his steps because the words of the accompanying song are not translating for him. Him and Amicus stumble around while Cassius and Alexios put on a good performance. After all votes go to Cassius for the first trial and he is declared the victor, Marco storms out of the throne room in embarrassment.
