Synopsis

Planned for a few weeks after the Trial of Rhetoric, this trial was staged by Cato and Cassius after the discovery of Amicus's accidental first contact with humans and his relationship with Marco. In the process of staging, Marco Nervo's Cassius and Amicus incapacitates Cato by ripping his visor off giving Marco time to escape to Neferu's room in the palace. A second trial of combat occurs between Amicus and Cato after Cato attempts to overthrow Cassius and take the throne for himself, however the rules of this trial were a fight to the death. As the fight begins, Marco saves Neferu from the executioner's stand then watches the fight intently. As Cato begins to take the upper hand and is about to kill Amicus, Marco takes the knife that was going to be used to execute Neferu and stabs Cato in the back and neck. Cato wrests the knife from Marco and cuts his throat open before Amicus is able to recover and intervene. Amicus regains composure and pins Cato down and proceeds to rip out his throat.
