Tosscobble River
Geography
Dividing the Khallidian Peninsula in 2, as well as serving as the major front between Khalid and the Khalliarian Empire, this river is known by most throughout the world. The river is a kilometer wide at most, and 10 meters thin at its shortest. It is rather deep, at about 10-100 meters deep throughout the entire thing. It starts in a spring in the mountains, and curves down south into the ocean, just southwest of Khalid in Southwestern Khalid.
Ecosystem
Many fish swim in the depths of this place, never going too near the surface because of the never ending war. The war has severely affected surface dwelling life, and the surface of the river is now almost completely devoid of life.
Localized Phenomena
This river seems to have some strange magical qualities about it. It is said those who drink from it unfiltered may receive magical abilities temporarily. Though these are usually weak, maybe just being able to cast a cantrip, its been known to allow some to emit lightning out of their fingertips. This has changed many battles across the river, as one side might have a dude who can just fireball the other army. This is currently the only hope that one side may gain victory over the other, through the magical qualities of this river. These qualities may be because of a dragon burrowed deep within the mountains, hoarding gold.
Natural Resources
Many rare fish used to come from this river, but now they dont because of the war. Much of Khalid's water supply comes from this river as well, which is mostly used for industry because its the middle ages we dont have clean water.
History
This river has served as the hardest trial of controlling the peninsula. You must either cross the river, or sail around. For eons, its been the border. Many civil wars have been slow due to this river, and many conquests have taken years due to it. Its magical abilities have only began showing in the last 1000 years. Currently, its the border of the brutal Khallidian Civil War, and hundreds of bodies have been carried down its waters, sometimes turning the water red. Its a distinct way to tell when a major battle occurred, if the river is red.
Tourism
It used to be a hotspot of tourism, where many would travel to, hoping to become blessed with sorcery, and boon with power. Many have, and many didnt. It used to have many valuable surface fish as well, which many people came to fish to try for themself, but recently with the war, they are all gone. People try to avoid the river, as its one of the most dangerous places in the world to be. You could be shot with arrows by either side.
