Personal history
She lived a very happy young life. Her family was extremely wealthy as they were with the first moguls of Stromfell to take advantage of the harvests brought by Tamamo and the kitsune. Her mother was one of the 3 leaders of the thundered electrum guild. However one day everything changed. Her father died suddenly, foul play was assumed but no one could understand who the culprit was, and then at the funeral it was revealed that he had been living a double life. Chevalier had a sister. This stunned her, she instantly began to blame the other woman for her father's death.
After the funeral her life took a turn. She began feeling hateful and angry at the world. Her mother dived straight into her work giving little time to Chevalier. She started spending more and more time with a bad crowd in the streets of Thunder's Landing. She learnt how to steal, hide and hurt. She did this for years before that fateful day when everything came undone. She went home to find her entire family dead.
The next few days were a blur. She couldn't wrap her head around anything. Everything she knew was gone. Taken. She was alone. That is until she was taken to the devil. Tamamo personally took it upon her to help Chevalier, She took care of her for a few days before taking her to her only living relatives. Bradamante and Raikou. In Chevaliers mind she had been brought to live with the person who killed her parents and destroyed her life. She was miserable.
She stayed at the top of Mount Yorimitsu for a while. She kept trying to get away but would always be brought back by either Tamamo or Raikou. Over time she ended up becoming close with Tamamo. She couldn't stand being anywhere near Raikou or Bradamante so she would often run to the temple at the bottom. Tamamo tried her best to get Chevalier to tell her why she always ran away but she would never say, always evading the question. Eventually Chevalier asked Tamamo to let her go. She told tamamo that she couldn't stand living with them anymore, she could stand being around the murderer of her parents. Tamamo tried to convince her that neither Raikou or Bradamante were responsible for their deaths but Chevalier wouldn't listen. Tamamo then made the hardest choice she's ever made. She let her go.
Chevalier wandered for a while. She returned to her old house but it was empty. She knew that she would gain all of the land, wealth and property that her family held once she turned 100 but she didn't care. She just wanted to be free. She spent years breaking into nobles houses gathering food, money and blackmail. Things went well until she broke into the wrong house. The home of Amon Wyvon. She stole the usual food and money but once she was hunting for blackmail she found something interesting. The location of his family. When she tried to escape with this knowledge she was caught by assassin's of the Demon's Viper. She was taken to Amon. She quickly tried to get her out using her blackmail but he didn't care. He instead offered her a job. Someone so skilled as to break into his home would be a valuable asset. Sweetening the deal he also offered that he would help her find the evidence necessary to bring Raikou to justice. Hearing this Chevalier joined immediately.
She was tasked with joining the Order's Viper when it was a full army. She was trained in the ways of the assassin, she was surprisingly proficient. Over time she would go on many missions always succeeding and climbing the ranks quickly. However her enthusiasm for the job quickly began to drop as no movement was made over Raikou. Whenever she would ask Amon would just wave it away.
Eventually she was called to speak with Dias Scarlett the general of the Order's army. He told her of a special task force he was assembling that would replace the current Order's Viper. He tasked her with leading it and teaching the recruits. She accepted thinking it would give her more grounds to push for her justice. It did not. Years went by and she heard nothing. So one night she disappeared. Vanishing into the night.
She headed for the Silvanus Woods, the Order wasn't there as strong as it was in other regions. While there she went back to doing what she does best. Until she had another chance encounter. One day she was asleep in a shelter she had built in the woods when a young girl woke her up. Or what she assumed was a young girl. Her name was Shuten and she was the master of the Giant's Wonder guild. She offered Chevalier a place in the guild. At first she was hesitant she had heard this before so she turned Shuten away. But Shuten came back every day and made the same offer. Even if Chevalier was gone for days or weeks she would come back to Shuten sitting there.
Over time they began to talk and Chevalier found that she could tell Shuten anything. She told her of her home and what happened. Shuten didn't tell her that it wasn't Raikou or that she's just overreacting. Instead she just listened. Eventually Shuten told Chevalier why she wanted her. Shuten believed Chevalier was lost, she had no family, no home and was on the run. Shuten wanted to help her. To give her a family and to give her purpose. She asked Chevalier to be her spy and Chevalier said yes.
